In 1992, International Planning Group was established as a worldwide life insurance sales organization providing generational wealth transfer planning and structuring solutions to U.S. and International families and their family-owned businesses worldwide.

Over two decades, Mr. Baker maintained dual headquarters in Boston and Bermuda with offices in Toronto, Dublin, Hong Kong, Singapore, Geneva, Zürich, Dubai, and Miami. IPG became the preeminent international life insurance broker, receiving referrals of high net-worth individuals from over two dozen private banking institutions worldwide.

In 2018, the Howden Broking Group, the world‘s largest independent insurance broker, approached Mr. Baker to combine and leverage their referral network in the property and casualty market with IPG’s expertise in the life insurance market. With IPG‘s annual life insurance premium over $1.5B and annual profits over $25M, Mr. Baker sold IPG‘s operations in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East to the Howden Broking Group while retaining operations in the U.S. and Latin America.​​
